I can be...I am a Superhero with a revealed alias. I can be anything I want to be just by telling you all a certain story. I seem brilliant, by the words I chose. I seem strong, by the pictures I share. You either have to accept my story as truth, or think that I am legendary.

see the sun and moon is no sign of sharp sight; to hear the noise of thunder is no sign of a quick ear.

Sunzi (2009-10-04). Concerning our “dissatisfaction with ourselves”, I wonder what weight, if any, can be given the constant fire and brimstone condemnation of our natural sexual desires directed at our vulnerable and innocent teenagers? It certainly wouldn’t contribute to feeling “satisfied” with one’s self.

We, as Christians, have to face reality – God-given sexual desires play a major role in the way far too many Christian Fundamentalist teenagers feel about themselves. Not only are they taught that to act on these feelings is reprehensible, but the mere thought of them is shame worthy - feelings and thoughts innocently brought about by raging and uncontrollable hormones. There is then no escape out of this constant state of confusion, proclaimed sinfulness, and “dissatisfaction with ourselves”.

Just recently I became aware of a Christian Fundamentalist raised 13-year-old girl who was “caught” by her father, having time with herself. She felt so sinful and unworthy (dissatisfaction to the extreme), that she could no longer face her father, and consequently took an irreversible step that ensured it.Jim and Diane Ruehlingnoreply@blogger.com
